Everyday and Not-so-everyday Computers

Swansea University has played an important role in the development of early computer technology, from the development of the Linux operating system, to hosting one of the world’s first ever web servers. Everyday Computers showcases our work, which: makes the rail network safer through the validation of signalling software; impacts patient care by redesigning the human-computer interface of medical devices, dramatically cutting down on clinical errors; and aids our understanding of the fundamental constituents of matter, i.e. quarks, by simulations involving supercomputers.
